last thursday i ventured to trigg beach with my cousin gungde, chanel, capri and dodds

and the ocean swallowed my favourite ring

my cousin Gungde from bali flew over to come stay with us last week. he's come to australia to better his english skills and study electrical engineering and of course we opened our home to him! he'll be staying here for 3 years before heading back home- such a brave thing to do, leaving your family and friends. anyway, two days after he arrived it was his 21st! balinese people aren't big on celebrations, so of course i had to find out via FACEBOOK that is was, but nonetheless we were prepared and it ended up being a nice day to become an old man

on saturday i went to rottnest (for the first time EVER) with chanel and her uni friends: andrew, natalie, bosko, aine, summer and brandon. it was the best weekend of my LIFE! spending all day in the hot sun, bike riding up and down hills, cooling off in the water and eating as much as possible
i really want to grab a cabin up there sometime before uni starts to spend a couple days to explore rottnest and visit ALL the beaches

and yes, by the way, i'm heading back to uni this year :o

blue valentine

this evening i went and saw 'blue valentine' starring ryan gosling and michelle williams at the Luna Palace theaters with miss mahalia
aside from a few awkward moments, the film was absolutely brilliant
and i am never getting married

...it's good to get outside, hop on a bike, jump in the sea and see where the day will take you

this afternoon joelle and i went and shot some basketball hoops down by her local park, but instead of using a big old ugly brown ball, we used her netball ball

we had great fun attempting to catch up with each others lives and aim straight at the same time :)

we decided that such activity deserved a reward, and drove down to the dome at hillarys for treats- chai lattes, apple pie, chocolate mousse cake, icecream and whipped cream

jo also bought me this beautiful gold bracelet for christmas

the past few weeks have just been a blur of jamboree

it feels like the celebrations of christmas, new years and the start of 2011 are already a vague memory
im starting to think i should really get that shit checked out
2011 has already been such fun: chocolate, heatwaves, casino, car rides, days lounging in the pool, BBQs and battling waves of salt

noteworthy: i went on the SUPERNOVA down at Hillarys with chanel and capri yesterday. it was absolutely exciting yet startling at the same time
it reminds me how fun the goldcoast was.. i'm planning to fly over again soon and spoil myself with dreamworld, movieworld, whitewater world etc :)
