o' sister of mine

on monday sarah turned 13 and officially became a troublesome teen

we went out for dinner to celebrate the night before at our local Chinese restaurant

duncraig garden chinese restaurant 9448 4818

we feasted on large soups and satays for entrées and then for mains we all shared two big bowls of steamed rice, sezuan beef, sweet and sour fried chicken, pork in plum sauce and grilled satay fish, and also had a bottle of chilli red wine to wash it all down with

chinese food never lets me down

on monday morning my family noisily crept into sarah's room and sung her 'happy birthday' before throwing our gifts at her

having already received a few of her presents before hand (a laptop and a ticket to justin bieber) she ripped off the wrapping to reveal a lunch box, some art equipment and a cork board just like my one

plus some money, ooh la la

and for dinner... let them eat cake!

chilli festival

the chilli festival was it was a celebration of everything Chilli including fresh foods, plants, pickles, chutneys, olives, cheese, chocolate, wine, beers and much, much more!
we enjoy a carnival atmosphere, great music and experienced ‘Masters of Menu’ with celebrity chef’s interactive cooking demonstrations

several of the merchants including Black Cherries Espresso, Spencer Brook, Bratwurst Bar with chilli hot dogs, Westralia Seafoods, Abhis Bakery, Raw Kitchen and thai Vegetarian, adding a spicy twist to all my favourites

it was such a great afternoon

fremantle markets

i absolutely love going to the fremantle markets!

there are so many different smells (not all great) and tastes (not all tasty) and colors (not all bright) and people (not all nice) and such chaos that it's always exciting

after having a quick look around the stalls i headed to the vege market and bought a large bundle of seedless red grapes for only $2.65 and a bag of green plums for even less

i love how the Asians are always screaming at each other, at no one, at everyone
and i love how you can always taste their fruit
there were a few interesting shops

i liked one that was selling miniature guitars and guitar cases designed like those of famous bands
and there was a shop that had strange artwork themed around the beach
and a florist full of fresh flowers

pretty

let's get moving

last night i spent an hour writing a blog, intending to better acquaint you with my new life as a university student
the aim was to introduce you my wonderful workspace where i now seem to spend most of my time (aside from my bed where i sleep the rest of my free time away)

i must highlight how proud i was of my writing

i introduced you to my books, my coffee cup, my cork board planner, my op shop desk and my highly prized new hp mini notebook
i emphasized how each of these elements inked together to form a perfect study environment
and i took my time in making sure to accentuate the importance of their placement and structure

i arranged the body of my blog to be clear and composed and i arranged the pictures purposely
i then read and reread the writing to make sure that everything flowed easily..
and then i forgot to press save

the result is a collection of photographs that don't really have an important feel to them
but i hope you appreciate that they were meant for something greater..than this

the year of 21

i've only been to a few dress up parties in my life, a majority of them during my childhood, but i'm finding them a recurring theme for 21st birthdays.. and i'm liking it
the first dress up 21st i went to was pattos last year

so far this year i've had to dress up as a a rockster, a sailor and tinkerbell the fairy
on my list of upcoming events i've got a mexican fiesta, jungle themed party and a 'who did i want to be when i grew up?' 21st to prepare for

80s rockstarssailor. surfer. sailor.snow white. sailor moon.sailor. sleeping beauty. silver.tooth fairy. devil tooth fairy. daria. homeless man. tinkerbell. dora the explorer. donatello.dental assistant. homeless man. devil tooth fairy.tinkerbell. homeless man.homelessman. hippy.

i wish everyday was dress up day
